Just how much foot strength do you need for vaginal deliveries? I have a cast that should come off two weeks before my due date so I'm not sure how much strength I'll be able to re-gain by then. I would imagine as long as the baby isn't early it'll be enough time but my mom is convinced this will make things difficult ( Read more... )

Well dear pregnant friends, I have had my baby! And so you get this birth story. To summarize... Josephine Elizabeth was born at 6:35 am Wednesday June 9th, two days before her due date. 19.5" long, 7 lbs 4 oz, and very healthy. Finally managed to finished writing down my birth story, almost a month after the fact. In short, early labour went very quickly. So quickly that I was afraid we wouldn't make it to the hospital. This took me 2 weeks to finally write, but I must warn you- it is 8 pages long!

To cut it short, this is a natural hospital birth, majority of laboring done at home, with a total of 15 hours and 1 and a half of pushing.

I'm gonna try to get my birth story done while Evelyn is sleeping (on my chest, no less, so excuse any typos lol).

For the record, a lot of this might be inaccurate as far as timing goes because it got pretty fuzzy. I only looked at the clock a few times, and only twice when I was in the hospital - one of those times was when Evelyn was born.
